Where Did Season 5 of 1000-lb Sisters Leave Off?
Season 5 of 1000-lb Sisters had a lot to unpack. A lot went down between both Amy and Tammy Slaton. The season focused on Amy's divorce from Michael Halterman, the father of her two children, Gage and Glenn. Amy was going through tough times with Michael, and early in the season, fans finally saw her have the courage to walk away from him. Amy found out that it was Michael who beat her to the punch regarding filing for divorce. Ultimately, their divorce was finalized in September 2023 and the two share custody of their children.
As for Tammy, Season 5 showcased her whirlwind marriage to Caleb Willingham after meeting him in a weight-loss rehabilitation center. Tammy urged him to focus on eating healthily so that he could leave the facility and the two could start their lives together, but Caleb could not make that promise. Sadly, Caleb died in June 2023, just months after the two wed. His death was extremely hard on Tammy. Speaking to People, she shared that she created a ring and necklace that held Caleb's ashes:
"He's going to live on now forever because his memory is encapsulated. Knowing that he's with me, it's helping me pass the day."
However, Season 5 wasn't only focused on the tough times both Amy and Tammy faced in their lives. After both women lost significant amounts of weight, viewers watched them take a family trip to Pensacola, Florida. Tammy traveled on a plane for the very first time, which she ended up loving. Despite Amy refusing to travel by plane, she made her way down to Florida and wore a bikini to the beach. Going to the beach was also a huge milestone for the family. It was Tammy's first time stepping foot on a beach.

Amy Slaton Was Arrested For Drug Possession
In September, Amy Slaton made headlines after she was arrested at a Tennessee Zoo and faced disturbing charges. According to People, who obtained a statement from the Crockett's County Sheriff's Department in Alamo, Tennessee, they initially responded to a call at the Safari Park after a park goer was bitten by a camel. However, while attending to the guest who was bitten, officers noticed "suspicious odors" coming out of a vehicle. The car just so happened to belong to Amy.
It was later learned that Amy was bitten by the camel and that the drugs found in her vehicle included "what they believed to be mushrooms" and "what they believed to be marijuana." As People noted, both Amy and a man named Brian Scott Lovvorn, said to be her new boyfriend, were arrested and charged with "illegal possession of schedule I, illegal possession of schedule IV, and two counts of child endangerment."
When Amy was released from jail, she was seen holding Brain's hand. When a reporter asked if she had anything to say, Amy stated, "No, thank you, and I'm sorry for everything."
After Amy was arrested, Tammy took both her sister's children. Amy and Brain were released from jail on $10,000 bond each. The pair were picked up by Chris Combs, Amy's brother. With Season 6 having already been filmed, it's unlikely that Amy's arrest will be shown in the new season.

"It's not a diet. They say, it's a lifestyle change. Which it really is."
In her post, she added, "Diets come and go, but true transformation happens when you commit to lasting lifestyle changes. It's not just about what you eat, it's about how you live—your mindset, your habits, and how you take care of your body and mind every day."

It marks the first time Amy and Tammy have traveled overseas, and fans finally get to see Amy travel by plane. In the new trailer, Chris is heard stating, "In the past, the family trips have tore us apart. Hopefully, this trip will bring us together as a family."
Of course, not everything is peachy within the family and more arguments arise. In fact, Tammy believes her sister Amanda is jealous of her weight loss. "Now that I've lost so much weight, I feel like she's kinda jealous. She's not the pretty sister no more."
