I am working on a friend's cart. Her's is a PDS, mine is not. I noticed the ignition interlock wire (A) was broken off about 4" from the charger plug. The rest of the wire (B) goes through a wire sheath and comes out by the main positive terminal for the batteries. It has a flat spade connector (male) on the end and is just hanging there.
There is a wire (C) connected to the main positive terminal of the batteries. It has a flat spade connector (male) that is connected to a a wire (D) with a flat spade connector (female).
The interlock was obviously bypassed by some person (idiot). It appears the wire from the charger connection should be plugged into this wire with the female connector. They are right next to each other. My guess is, when the original wire broke, instead of just fixing it they rigged it.
Here's my dilemma. I contacted EzGo. They wouldn't help me. The guy said it shows how it is supposed to be on the wire diagram. Just put it back. He wouldn't listen to my questions. The problem is the wires she has are not at all like the wire diagram. It shows the wire from the charger port goes to a reed switch in the port itself and then directly to pin 4 on the 10-pin harness on the controller. The interlock in the pedal is attached to pins 3 & 4 on the 4-pin harness. The wire that I believe should be connected to the charging port does not go to pin 4, it goes under the cart towards the pedal.
Can someone please tell me how the wires are supposed to be routed and where all of them connect. Again, this is for a friend and she is in her 80's. She lives in a retirement community and drives it constantly. With it bypassed, if she bumped the pedal while it was plugged in it would take off on her and rip the charger from the wall.
Thanks for the help in advance.

Without seeing the wiring diagram you have the letters and numbers you posted for the wiring don't help to us.
Does the cart run now? All the reed switch does is keep the cart from running when the charger is plugged in. A lot of people bypass them when they're bad.

The letters are there to minimize confusion. I had to use the word "wire" so many times, I put letters next to them so people would know they were all different.
As for the wire diagram, all base TXT PDS golf carts came wired the same as long as nothing extra was added, say more lights. This is directly from EzGo. I asked for a diagram and he cut me off when I was about to say the year. He just said it didn't matter, they are identical. You can see the diagram at the beginning of the forums.
The cart does run. In the last paragraph I mentioned I knew the safety was bypassed and I knew it kept the cart from moving when it was plugged in. It can't be like that on her cart. It isn't safe. There are over a hundred elderly people (between 75 & 95 years old) in this retirement community and I see them make simple mistakes all the time. I am afraid she may forget one day to unplug it or that she even plugged it in. I told her what the switch did and she wants it back as soon as possible.
Her diagram shows the wire going directly to the controller, but her's appears to go to the pedal. This is how my non-PDS cart is. Other than that ours are identical, even the year. I was hoping someone with a similar year could look at their's. I am wondering if not all similar carts came wired the same for one reason or another.

There's a EZGO PDS wiring diagram in the Resource section of the forum that shows the reed switch wiring. There's also a link to download the EZGO service manual.
The white wire from the reed switch should plug into the red wire and run to pin 4 on the controller.

Right. Those would be wires A and D that I mentioned. I also know according to the diagram the red wire should go to pin 4. That is the problem I am having. The red wire goes under the cart towards the pedal. The wire looks old so it is most likely original. This also makes the wire way too long to go to pin 4. If I remember right, I did see a wire come from under the cart and go to pin 4. It is almost as if this wire was routed directly through the safety switch in the pedal instead of the control box and not using pin 3 & 4 on the 4-pin harness for the safety switch wires. That is how a non-PDS model is, but her's is without a doubt a PDS. It's just weird.

Is the wire going to the pedal in a harness?

It appears to. I haven't lifted it up to look nor have I removed the access panel on the floor. It must go there since there isn't anything else under the center of the cart but the pedal control. Remember, the wire looks as old as the rest of them. It also runs inside cable sheaths like it is supposed to with other wires. If someone added it, they did an excellent job. It looks stock.

There should be a red wire and a green wire running to the pedal box micro switch and they should be connected to the J4 terminals on the controller.
The green wire would go to pin 1 of J4 and the red wire would go to pin 2 of J4.
