  1. #1 Best College Athletics in AmericaUniversity of FloridaGainesville, FL·4 Year·Rating 3.92 out of 5 8,106 reviewsJunior: My experience with the University of Florida (UF) has been quite positive overall. UF is known for its strong academic programs and rigorous standards which is one of the main reasons I chose to attend. The campus is vibrant, offering over 1,000 student organizations, academic clubs, cultural organizations, sports, or the arts, there is something for everyone. UF benefits from a mix of urban and natural environments, the city is a friendly, college-town vibe and plenty of outdoor activities, cultural events, and a warm climate. However, there are areas for improvement. Some introductory courses can be quite large, making it challenging for students to get individual attention. Streamlining academic advising will be very beneficial. Parking is one of the largest problems too because it is very difficult to find a spot and lots of fines to go around.... 2. #2 Best College Athletics in AmericaLouisiana State UniversityBaton Rouge, LA·4 Year·Rating 3.86 out of 5 3,726 reviewsSophom*ore: Overall, I am happy with my experience at LSU, academically, the professors were willing to answer any doubts in class, during office hours, or through Outlook. As a math major, the university offers several concentrations, allowing me to explore different career paths in mathematics as early as my freshman year. In addition, I hope to participate in the available research opportunities in math next year. I appreciated the presence of the individuals who constituted my "support" team, particularly, my academic coach who helped me with study techniques for biology since I struggled with it. Socially, there are many opportunities to meet great people, and the university hosts fun events throughout the year. What I would change, however, are some issues regarding the university's housing. In the residence hall of two friends, there was a rat in the ceiling that they never got rid of. Also, there were a few complete power outages that also had the effect of closing the dining halls.... I have never enjoyed my college experience as much as I did at the University of Alabama. The sports and my peers who attend the college are second to none, everyone is very friendly and the classes are great! The food in the dining hall is well above what I expected. With a mix of great academics, athletics, and campus programs I could not be happier anywhere else. The majority of individuals who complain about Clemson life do NOT represent the majority here at Clemson. Clemson has a unique atmosphere where you can tell the majority of students prioritize their academics unlike other campuses I have been to. Additionally, I have never met a rude person at Clemson. Everyone is open, kind, and willing to offer academic or personal advice. Also, the career center on campus has been number one in the nation several times and can almost guarantee you work. The professors I grew close to were helpful in writing letters of recommendation and pushing me to be the best student possible. Campus was beautiful and I never feared for my safety, even walking back from the library or Campus Corner at night. The town of Norman had everything a person could need to live there forever! Being able to experience two national championships and a million other sporting events was one of the best things of my college career. It is a great combination between academics and a social scene. I felt like there was always something to do, but there also wasn't immense pressure to go with the crowd. The campus is beautiful with many places to study and hang out with friends. Athens as a whole has also been so much fun to live in. It was more of a small town that I originally expected, but I learned to love its charm. As for academics, I have found great mentorship from my professors, and I have genuinely enjoyed every program I have gotten involved in on campus. However, all of the amazing faculty at Ohio State made it super easy to transition to a new school. I was able to get involved with student organizations from day one of being on campus. I love how many different ways there are to get involved; there truly is something for everyone here. Since it is a larger school, it is a little more dependent on your own self to get involved and take advantage of all the things that are offered. I also love having the city of Columbus to take advantage of! There are so many things to do and it makes it super easy to get off campus. I also love how proud everyone is to be a Buckeye. The equipment is top tier, and the classes offered at the rec center are enjoyable, and are a great way to spend time from studying. The student life is also fun, as wherever you go on campus one will find people, and things to do! The dining halls are also very good, and have numerous food options. 16. #14 Best College Athletics in AmericaUniversity of Texas - AustinAustin, TX·4 Year·Rating 4 out of 5 6,785 reviewsSophom*ore: I really love the city of Austin! The "weirdness" of Austin jumps out at you in the best way. The countless times I've gone to the groovy thrift stores or south Congress Ave with friends have been some of the best moments of my young life. The culture at UT is one of a kind as well. I feel that every person attending college feels a certain amount of pride in their school, like its a part of their identity almost. With UT its that and then some. Being from Maryland, experiencing the lone star state has been otherworldly. The pride in Texans and in the school is like no other, and it has certainly rubbed of on me. Though I am only a sophom*ore I am a Longhorn though and through! On top of the great city, the larger than life students, the sports and the like, UT is an academic institution first. Classes can be tough, and you feel it. Having to juggle social life with the grueling curriculum is something I had to work very hard for and still haven't quite got the hang of yet.... If you're looking for an involved community I highly recommend living there. It is a two-year contract, but definitely worth it. Overall professors are nice and they enjoy what they are teaching. There are also so many clubs and events throughout the year so you're never bored. The best dining hall is 100% East Village. Penland is good depending on what you get, but sometimes meat is undercooked and there was an issue at the beginning of the year where people got food poisoning from it. Brooks has the best staff, and Memo has a couple of good stations but mostly is pretty mid. Baylor is so generous with Scholarships and Financial Aid for the regular school year, but just know if you're taking Summer classes, there are only loan options unless you're graduating early. I lived basically like Alix Earle (college wise and not fame wise). There is something to do every single day. I was able to go out 6 nights a week and maintain my workload pretty easily. I absolutely loved all my classes and the professors. Most of my class sizes were small and very discussion based which I find best for learning. My professors were all super nice, available, knowledgeable, and understanding. Campus is beautiful! Greek life is take it or leave it, people involved really like it and I wasn't in a sorority but was still able to go to all the frat parties. I love the academics here and the party scene and I'm so sad I am graduating next week. 20. #18 Best College Athletics in AmericaUniversity of VirginiaCharlottesville, VA·4 Year·Rating 3.92 out of 5 2,420 reviewsAlum: I entered the school wanting a medium-sized town-and-gown experience and got what I wanted. The lack of diversity or meaningful connection to a typical metropolitan population was shocking at first. On a purely anthropological level, the mix and contrast of highly educated, milquetoast upper crust Americans with first generation scholarship students who know the struggle was enlightening. Greek life was overwhelming as someone who wasn't a part of it, yet they had far too much say about university matters for organizations that were ultimately self-serving. For some, the insular grounds can be comforting and grounding while for others, it will be suffocating and claustrophobic. As someone who enjoyed the Blue Ridge Mountains and local specialties, every season brought a treat. That's enough. I've had both irreplaceable and regrettable memories that come with being a college student far from home. If UVA could change for the better, I'd be more optimistic about the nation.... The town is small but progressive. There is literally a place for everyone here. You can be as involved as you want to be, all you have to do Is look around to find a group. Greek life is active but not necessary to enjoy your time here. Academics are rigorous, but professors are dedicated to helping you. You will never be left to just figure it out on your own. All you have to do is ask and they will bend over backwards to help you. The sports are great and so much fun. The whole town loves everything Auburn. It’s so much more than football. Our soccer and gymnastics are sold out every week! We love Auburn and everything it stands for. As a major R1 institution, we value research and are actively engaged in world changing work. 23. #21 Best College Athletics in AmericaSyracuse UniversitySyracuse, NY·4 Year·Rating 3.65 out of 5 3,599 reviewsOther: I experienced Syracuse University as a high-schooler via multiple summer on-campus courses. I saw firsthand the care and passion the faculty, professors, and students all had for the college. The lifestyle was fast-paced, with something happening every minute. I found it impossible not to go out because there was always something to do, whether it be various events held by the school, ping-pong games held in the lounges, or just enjoying the campus with friends. I've already committed to Syracuse University and am very excited to see what the next chapter of my life holds.... The quality of the academics and research opportunities is great. Socially there's also a lot of fun things to do on campus and around South Bend. 25. #23 Best College Athletics in AmericaStanford UniversityStanford, CA·4 Year·Rating 4.1 out of 5 1,286 reviewsGraduate Student: Attending Stanford has been a mix of excitement and challenges. Going to games is a blast, with plenty of sports activities. Professors are generally great but lean politically one way, limiting viewpoint diversity. As a research-focused institution, one-on-one time with professors is limited, though humanities professors are more approachable. Lecturers are decent, reflecting the research emphasis.Campus life can be slow, so finding your group is crucial. The campus is huge and beautiful, with great weather and all necessary amenities. The social scene is limited, and Palo Alto, though affluent, is not very exciting. San Francisco and Oakland are 45 minutes to an hour away, offering more entertainment options. However, most students stay on campus due to the distance and heavy workload, contributing to the "Stanford bubble." Overall, Stanford offers great opportunities, but you need to find your niche to make the most of it.... Campus life, activities offered, academics, and so much more has already influenced me to chose to thrive during my time in college. I like how much is offered to students and how accessible most things are for every person on campus. I will say a couple things worth altering would be the food offered in the dining hall (more nutritious options and not so much repetition) and offering more options for Flex dollars usage, on and off campus. All this to say the University of Kentucky so far has been an amazing experience and I look forward to continue my education there....
