Hi, I'm Drew Shaw and I’m the general manager at our brand new anytime fitness club in Bishops Cleeve.My passion for fitness grew off the back of playing rugby as a teenager which then led me to pursuing my career in the industry.Over the last 10 years in the fitness industry I have qualified as a personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach and helped 100’s of people with a multitude of goals from general health and fat loss all the way through to iron-man triathlons and 100km ultra marathons.🏃After getting into trail running and completing a few ultras and half iron-mans personally over the last few years, I also love hitting the trails on the weekend or getting out for a bike ride through the Cotswolds.I believe in a balanced approach to health and fitness so you’re more likely to be seeing me with a chocolate bar than you are protein shake!🍫

My passion for fitness started through competitive sports at a young age with a combination of rowing and athletics which developed into love for the gym and the array of benefits it has on my lifestyle. One of my favourite hobbies is cooking and baking, and I love to experiment with new recipes to explore great tasting combos in a balanced way that compliments a healthy, yet enjoyable lifestyle. My goal is to make exercise inclusive for everyone, to create healthier lifestyles and help people see the positive effect that exercise can have on the body and the mind. I have worked in the fitness industry for about 8 years. I'm a personal trainer and have various other fitness based qualifications. I am passionate about fitness and helping people to achieve their goals, and it's an amazing privilege to watch people grow in confidence and see real improvement in all aspects of their health when they engage with their programmes and enjoy their training.I think the gym should be a place which is friendly, positive and has a social element to go alongside the work we do.I love football. When I'm not working, I play Sunday league as well as support Arsenal! It would be great to think about having a football team from the gym once the gym gets established in the future.As I have only recently left home my latest hobby is cooking. I'm not Gordon Ramsey or anything but I enjoy having a go and for me the secret is not to be afraid to try.
